Tis the Season

SO I am finally feeling like it is Christmas. I was having a hard time realizing that it was December with the warm weather and the leaves desperately holding on to the trees. I put up my second tree on Saturday, a lovely hand me down that is only decorated on the top half thanks to a little two footer that is very 'hands on', attended 2 ward Christmas Parties among other festive gatherings, and it just hit me, it is here!! The snow that appeared on Sunday morning and again this morning did help that a lot. I am not sure how it was like 55 degrees and sunny last week and now it is freezing cold (literally) today. Today I made peppermint bark and wrapped present and also did preparations for the highly anticipated Bethlehem Express Primary activity tomorrow. I am feeling festive and ready! Bring it on Christmas!

This show must go on. . .

So to much demand (Brittany) I will continue to blog. I created this with the intend of having something fun to do and to keep in touch with friends and Family, while I journaled about our life. Well I have never been a great journal keeper, so I guess I am a slacker blogger also. SO I really do want to be better for the sole purpose of letting my kids and future posterity see what I was like and what my life consisted of. (I hope blogger will be around that long) After reading These is My Words (A fake, but very real like journal) of Sarah Prine, I really wanted to be better, but have been failing at this goal. Now I know I am not traveling across the Territories and fighting of Indians, but I have my own Jack Elliot and we are kinda exciting (and funny at times) and we have a child that we want to teach and have great recorded events with. So I, Hailey Whitaker, SWEAR to be better!

So here goes some catch up. . .

The month of November(in a nut shell) consisted of. . .

The beginning of a mini remodel, a mini-model

The Before

A little of a 25th Birthday Celebration, with lots of GREAT friends and lunch (thank you), Shopping at good ole Target for TWO hours (thank you Britt and Jenny), a great dinner and Jasmine (thank you mom and Britt and Ruth, And Chris and Nicole, Parks LOVES flashlights now) and a fabulous shirt (thanks honey). We also had a delectable dinner at my parents home.

We also played in the dirt. . . well Parks did. . . dirt really isn't my thing.

I booked a Flight with my mother to Salt Lake City to go to our Celine Dion concert, that we bought tickets for in July. About eight hours later we got word from my Aunt (who was supposed to go also) that the concert was canceled due to Celine being ill. AHHHHH such disappointment!! She really could of lip synced and I would of never known, Oh well. SO she rescheduled for Feb. 22, a SUNDAY, IN SALT LAKE CITY!!! What? So we are now dubbing it the Celine Fireside. HMMMM.



And yes Jennifer and I went to a Midnight showing of Twilight





The After. . . I learned how to lay tile. . . It took a month (not my tile laying) with Jeramy only home about an hour a day.


November ended great, with lots of family and love for the Thanksgiving holiday. We are so grateful you all came. We love you. We ate and then ate, we bowed, we saw Twilight, shopped and ice skated and just enjoyed one another.

Feeding my Good Wolf

So I love Sundays. I love the nourishment for my spirit, having Jermay home and spending time with family. Today at church the one and only Brother Martin told a story that the Temple President shared with our youth. An Indian told his son that in every man lives two wolves, a bad ravenous wolf and a good doing positive wolf, and he said the one that wins in the end is the one you feed. Loved that story. So the point of this post is to make a goal to intentionally be better at feeding my good wolf, who probably has been hungry. I am going to use this to make a point to be better at positive reading, listening among other things, and possibly journal about them, since I apparently have nothing to post.

So there you have it a little spiritual thought for the day!

Loving. . .

There are many things that i am loving currently in my life. Being married, being a part of a giving and receiving relationship, being a daughter, not only of my earthy parents that love my unconditionally, but also of my Heavenly Father and Mother, who I can feel their love for me constantly. I am loving being a sister and working a building relationships with my siblings. I am loving the blessing of the gospel and the calling I hold in the Church and what a great blessing it is to learn from those around me.

But I think I am loving, well I don't want to say most because being a wife is great also but okay most, is being a mother. there is no other gift in this immortal exsistence that can even compare. Watching him learn something as simple as the motions to the Circle Time Song is so incredibly rewarding. The other day he hugged me on our way to the car from Wally World, and i thought this could not get better. I have a hard time understanding why people would freely choose to not accept this gift in this life. To refuse it like it is a chore. Hmm a chore to have an opportunity to have such a great influence, to teach, to love, to nurture, and in turn miss out on that hug that cannot be any more genuine. I am so glad that I have the knowledge to fully understand the value that we have as mothers and the value that it will have in this life and for the eternities. I love Parks and the rest of my eternal children, even though I don't know them, I love them!

What we have been up to . . .

Vernan's Baby Blessing

We went to Fallon to spend some great time with Jeramy's family. It was so fun, we haven't been all together for a long time. We met Jeramy's brother Ian's little boy who was born in November. Cutler is so adorable! Jeramy's sister Millie blessed her baby. We had family pictures and a baby blessing all together.

Pumpkin Patch

We took a trip with some friends to a pumpkin patch in Fallon, Lattin Farms, yesterday.We made the one hour drive and it was worth it! We got a private hay ride, picked our pumpkins from the vine and got yummy cinnamon rolls. The kids loved all the cute pumpkins and the nice dry dirt they tried eating and putting in their hair! Parks thought that every thing was a 'ball'! It was a great way to celebate fall!

Parks wanted this one and was convinced he could lift it!

Oh and we went to Scheel's when my grandma was here.

Well the access to the store is terrible but it was a pretty cool store!

6 weird things about me. . .

So I was tagged by a couple of people to do this, so I guess I will succumb to peer pressure and do it! But as a warning I think I am boring so this was really hard for me.

1. I am a time nut, I check my watch constantly and I hate being late. My brain has a hard time working in anything but half hour or fifteen minute increments.

2. I like my ice cream ridiculously melted before I eat it. Soft serve I enjoy very much!

3. I have a really hard time going out with out being completely ready, hair, clothes, make-up etc. I am always worried that I might see someone i know and be totally embarrassed if i was in my sweats and my hair up with no make-up.

4. I think I have a twinge of OCD. I find things that I like and then think about them and obsess about them. Example: Joys of Home blog and painting things black and wanting to search thrift stores for cool things, the Twilight series. Then after awhile I am not so obsessed with them (exception Twilight).

5. I like projects and being productive. It makes me feel efficient when things are getting done and my house feels good and clean. And now with Jeramy working so much, I hate to be bored.

well I have been busy okay. .

I seriously cannot believe that it has been since the eighth that I last posted. Well I have been busy and will catch you up.

Well on the eleventh Jeramy and I celebrated four years of marriage bliss!

We went to the much anticipated Brian Regan . . . concert? It was so fun, seriously my eye make-up was gone after the show. It was super fun with all my siblings. The opening act was even gut splitting funny.

We enjoyed some $6 Awful Awful burgers before the show. Delicious.

I have been obsessed with the Joys of Home blog, joysofhome.blogspot.com. (thanks allison). So she is so great and now I am OBSESSED with spray painting, mostly black. I have a friend who says that every room needs something black to anchor it, I totally believe it. So I have walked through my house spraying things black. For example:

So this part of my hall used to be burnt orange, well it never really looked the way I thought it would, so I decided to change it. I used a color I already had and got to work during nap time one day. I painted to little cupboard thing ontop black, I got the white and red vase at a thrift store. I think it turned out great, sorry I forgot before pics.

Next I painted my front door black, and I love it. Next is the door handle to silver.

The bugs and the frame used to be brown, but now shine in black!!!!

Then I used some of her ideas to make some cute CHEAP halloween decor!

Cute huh?!

This last weekend I was busy sealing stuff in a food sealer my mother purchased. So great!

This is a week late, but i wanted to post about his party. So I really didn't want to have a huge bash, because he wont even remember, but when my mom and I get to gether we just cant help our selves, we love a party.
